About Crossroads Bookkeeping

Robin Linscott is a 1985 graduate of the University of Maine. Having grown up in Massachussetts, she became a Maine resident in 1984 when she married her college sweetheart. Today they have three grown children; a chef, a childhood behaviorist and a medical student.

Robin taught each of her children at home and used her bookkeeping skills to help supplement the family income working with both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

In May of 2011 she and her husband were at a crossroads in their lives as they learned that he would need a liver transplant to survive. The burden of the family income rested on Robin's shoulders. That was when the dream for Crossroads Bookkeeping began to take shape.

Working fulltime with Boyko Engineering of Gorham as bookkeeper/office manager for several years, Robin knew changes in her life would make things easier in caring for her husband. With the full support of her employer, and current client, Robin started putting her own small business model together.

In May of 2012 her oldest son saved her husband's life by giving half of his liver to his dad. The transplant has been a remarkable success so that today, her husband is again largely independent and hoping to see his days on disability come to an end in 2013. 1 in 6 liver transplant recipients are able to return to fulltime employment and he is determined to be that 1.

The crossroads of facing chronic illness together taught Robin and her husband a new perspective on life. Together they made major changes in their lifestyle and reprioritized a good deal.

In 2013 Robin, with a handful of clients, committed to putting her dream into action by launching Crossroads Booking Services. Her goal of helping small business owners get control of their finances is largely about helping them have more time to spend where it matters: family. Faith and family are the cornerstones of the Linscott household.
